Many dogs are very anxious and on edge not only on New Year’s Eve itself, but also several days before and after.

Why do dogs get scared and anxious on New Year's Eve?
New Year's Eve is an exceptional situation for dogs, during which their reactions are driven by instinct and the will to survive. There are many reasons that explain why dogs react the way they do on New Year's Eve.
- Sensitive hearing – For one thing, their hearing is much more sensitive than that of humans. Sudden loud noises can therefore be overwhelming for them.
- Inability to identify the source – In addition, unlike us humans, they cannot identify the source of the noise. They therefore perceive it as a threat, which triggers their flight instinct.
- Additional factors – On top of that, there is the smell of sulfur and burning, unpredictable flashes of light, and, in some cases, tremors, all of which naturally intensify the feeling of stress.
- The influence of dog owners – Especially when they are aware of this issue, many dog owners themselves are very tense. Dogs are very sensitive! They sense this tension and often pick up on it.
How can CBD help dogs on New Year's Eve?
Anxiety and panic attacks are usually triggered or exacerbated by chemical processes in the body, such as the release of excessive amounts of adrenaline or cortisol. CBD can help regulate this overproduction, thereby helping dogs relax naturally

CBD stands for cannabidiol—a natural compound derived from the hemp plant that belongs to the cannabinoid family. What should you keep in mind when giving CBD to dogs on New Year's Eve?
If you want to use CBD on New Year’s Eve to help your dog relax, you should ideally start giving it to them early on. The sooner, the better!
We recommend starting to take CBD at least one to two weeks before the first fireworks. Most of our customers even start as early as December 1st.

How do I properly dose CBD for my dog on New Year's Eve?
Our general dosage recommendation is 0.5 to 1 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight. You can use our dosage calculator to get a personalized calculation. Feel free to use this recommendation as a guide during the initial trial period. Important: This is only a rough guideline. Since every dog is unique and responds to CBD at different rates and with varying intensity, you should simply observe your dog to get a feel for the right dosage.
In extremely stressful situations, such as on New Year’s Eve, it’s perfectly fine to give three to four times the usual amount of CBD.
And don't worry—you can't go wrong! Even an overdose of CBD has no harmful side effects and, in most cases, only causes drowsiness, which might actually be welcome on New Year's Eve.
