You're looking for dog cookies with CBD and suddenly come across three different terms that seem to mean the same thing: sometimes they're called "cookies," sometimes "treats," and sometimes "snacks." So which one is it, and how do they differ anyway?
Don't worry—we'll go over everything here at your own pace. By the end, you'll know what makes a good CBD dog treat, what to look for when buying one, and which type is right for your dog.
What are CBD dog treats?
CBD dog treats are small snacks for your dog that contain a fixed amount of CBD. Instead of using drops from a bottle, you give your dog a treat that already contains CBD.
We explain in detail what CBD actually is and how it works for dogs on our page about CBD oil for dogs. This article focuses on the convenient cookie and snack forms.
Cookies, treats, or snacks: what's the difference?
Honest answer: In practical terms, these three terms usually mean the same thing—namely, a treat containing CBD. The difference may sometimes lie in the shape and texture.
- Cookie: sounds like something baked and a bit firmer, often in the shape of a cookie.
- Treat: the catch-all term for any reward given by hand.
- Snack: From nacani, the easy-to-portion ball for when you're feeling a little hungry.
We call them CBD Snacks—small balls containing a fixed amount of CBD. They’re exactly what many people mean when they say “dog biscuit”: a tasty treat that also contains CBD. You can find an overview of all the varieties under “CBD Treats for Dogs.”
What goes into a good CBD dog treat?
Since “CBD cookie” isn’t a protected term, it’s worth checking the label. You can tell if a product is high-quality based on these points, and that’s exactly how we measure ourselves:
- A fixed, specified amount of CBD per piece, so you know exactly what your dog is getting.
- Authentic ingredients with no unnecessary fillers; vegan options are also available upon request.
- Clear labeling on every package
Our snacks are handcrafted in a traditional artisanal workshop in Bavaria and come in chicken, fish, and vegan varieties, so there’s something for every dog.
Why do pet owners give their dogs CBD dog treats?
Most often as a treat that also does some good. A cookie fits in any jacket pocket, can be fed cleanly by hand, and is quick to grab during training or as a little ritual after a walk.
CBD naturally supports your dog and promotes his well-being. To find out how quickly and for how long CBD works, read the guide “Effects and Duration of CBD in Dogs.”
Can I bake my own CBD dog treats?
Generally speaking, yes—there are plenty of recipes circulating online that call for oats, bananas, and a little oil. However, there are two tricky aspects to this: getting the proportions right and ensuring quality. It’s also important to know that CBD doesn’t do well when heated.
The advantage of these ready-made snacks is that they are gently baked in our dehydrator to preserve all their valuable nutrients.
If you enjoy baking, you can also simply add the CBD after baking—for example, by drizzling oil over the finished cookies. Use the dosage calculator to determine the appropriate amount.
Are CBD dog treats also suitable for cats?
No. Cats should not be given our full-spectrum products. This is because they contain terpenes, which cats cannot metabolize. This is not due to the CBD itself, but rather to these natural compounds found in the hemp plant.

Frequently Asked Questions About CBD Dog Treats
Is a CBD cookie the same thing as a CBD treat?
Most of the time, yes. The terms are used interchangeably and refer to a treat containing CBD. The difference lies more in the shape and texture than in the contents.
How many CBD cookies can my dog have per day?
It's not the number of cookies that matters, but the amount of CBD in milligrams. A general guideline is 0.5 to 1 mg per kilogram of body weight. The dosage calculator will show you the right amount.
Are your cookies vegan, too?
Yes. In addition to chicken and fish, there is a vegan variety that contains absolutely no animal ingredients.
Do CBD dog treats get my dog high?
No. THC is the active ingredient, and its concentration is below 0.2%. CBD itself does not have any intoxicating effects.
CBD dog treats are usually all the same
Whether you call them cookies, treats, or snacks, all three essentially refer to a CBD treat. More important than the name is the quality: a consistent amount per piece, transparent labeling, and THC levels below 0.2%. That way, you get a treat where you know exactly what your dog is eating.
