Is your dog often nervous? There are several situations in which many dogs become anxious. Unfamiliar surroundings, new people, medical conditions such as dementia, travel, or visits to the vet—but also personal disposition, negative experiences, or even trauma—play a very significant role here.
If you want to help your dog in these situations, the most important thing is to figure out exactly what’s causing your dog’s anxiety and work specifically on helping them overcome their fears. In this post, you’ll learn how else you can support your furry friend!
1. Help your dog relax by staying close to him
You are your dog’s most important caregiver! That’s why your furry friend feels most at ease when you’re around. Show him you’re there for him with massages and gentle strokes. By the way, some dogs also find being brushed very soothing. Just try out what works best for your little one.
Dogs are very sensitive to our emotional state. So if you’re stressed yourself, that stress can rub off on your dog because your dog can sense it. That’s why you should make sure to keep your own stress levels low. It’s not only good for your dog’s health, but for your own as well!

2. Use specific relaxation techniques with your dog
Have you ever heard of conditioned relaxation? It’s an effective training method in which a signal, object, or scent is associated with a relaxed state and can be triggered on demand. With the help of conditioned relaxation, you can specifically counteract potential triggers and help your dog quickly “cool down.”
To use conditioned relaxation effectively, you first need to build it up consistently. Our Relax Buddy is very helpful for this—a small scented stick filled with a blend of hemp and lavender oil. Dogs have an exceptionally keen sense of smell, which is why conditioned relaxation is particularly effective when using scents.
How do you practice guided relaxation?

- Step 1 – Place the Relax Buddy next to your dog for at least 30 minutes while he is dozing or sleeping.
- Step 2 – Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a day for 4 to 6 weeks.
- Step 3 – Now you can use the Relax Buddy even in stressful situations. Hold the scent stick in front of your nervous dog’s nose, just as you did during training, and you should soon notice that he relaxes.
3. Help your dog relax with supplements
To complement your training , you can also use natural supplements that can have a positive effect on your dog's mental well-being.
- Less Stress Herbal Blend – Our LESS STRESS Herbal Blend was specially developed to reduce anxiety and stress in dogs. The unique combination of natural ingredients such as valerian root, hemp leaf powder with natural CBD, lemon balm leaves, ginkgo leaves, hop flowers, chamomile flowers, and brewer’s yeast gently soothes and supports your dog’s well-being.
- CBD Snacks – Our nacani treats have a positive effect on your dog’s body, mind, and spirit. They contain only natural ingredients and are enriched with hemp oil containing natural CBD to help improve your dog’s balance and vitality over the long term. They come in three different varieties and two sizes—so there’s definitely something for every dog and every taste!
- CBD Oil – Our CBD oil offers another natural way to support your dog’s physical and mental well-being. The amount of CBD your dog should receive depends on their weight. We recommend a dosage of approximately 0.5 to 1 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight per day.
