The goal is to establish a stable baseline level of CBD in the body. This is usually achieved after about 10–14 days of daily administration of approximately 0.5 mg of CBD per kg of body weight—this is also referred to as the body being “flooded” with CBD. Once the baseline level is established, any additional CBD—especially when absorbed through the mucous membranes—takes effect much more quickly, often within a few minutes.
Start with a low dose and increase it slowly. For minor concerns, we recommend 0.5–1 mg of CBD per kg daily. For moderate concerns, the dosage is approximately 1.5–2 mg per kg. For major concerns, severe anxiety, or pain, the requirement may be significantly higher—depending on the situation and the dog’s individual response.

We recommend dividing the daily dose of CBD into at least 2 doses (3 doses is even better, since CBD is metabolized by the body after about 4–6 hours) and testing our products over a period of 4–6 weeks. If you experience positive effects, CBD should be taken daily, with a 4–5-day break every 3 months to prevent the endocannabinoid system from becoming sluggish.
